Super Deodorant!

I always strive to purchase and use organic, natural, vegan and cruelty free products. Deodorant is one product that I am a stickler about when it comes to organic ingredients and here is why; the main sweat stopping ingredient in almost all deodorants is Aluminum, and it has been speculated that Aluminum could be a link to the formation of breast cancer because of it's estrogen like producing qualities. Besides the danger of breast cancer, there has also been a connection to Aluminum with the development of Alzheimer's disease. The fact is we are made to sweat, it is how our body releases toxins and plugging up our glands with chemicals just doesn't seem like the healthiest nor smartest thing to be doing. Besides, our sweat isn't even the culprit to our stinky underarms, it is the bacteria that accumulates in this area that makes us smell less than desirable. I like to use a mixture of coconut oil + baking soda a few times a week to clean that pesky bacteria and keep me feeling and smelling so fresh and so clean. A new product I just received in the mail today is from a shop called SunKidGifts I found on etsy.com, I ordered the "Pink Sugar" scented Deodorant and I have to say it smells like HEAVEN! I give this product 5 stars and you can find this Super Deodorant by clicking the link below!

Ditch the plastic!

I know this bit of advice might seem impossible in a society ruled by plastic, but I promise you it is not as hard as it seems! What's wrong with plastic you say? First and foremost drinking from plastic bottles could be damaging your health, and yes even if the plastic you are guzzling from is BPA free. Chemicals in plastic like polyethylene terephthalate PET, DEHA and benzyl butyl phthalate BBP, are released into the water when exposed to heat (and almost all water bottles are exposed to heat in transport) These chemicals have been linked to Cancer, Diabetes and PCOS to name a few.

Though we have been forced to think otherwise, plastic water bottles are not environmentally friendly. Plastic water bottles can only be recycled once or twice then they are thrown into a dump to sit for an eternity since plastic is non-biodegradable. With Americans using over 50 billion water bottles a year and barely recycling 25% of them, this is a great cause for concern for our Earth's well-being.

I have a secret to tell you...bottle water more often than not is just tap water in a pretty package which is 10,000 x the cost of water from your tap!  Not only is bottled water putting an unnecessary dent in your pocket, studies have shown that there is some nasty stuff contained in those bottles like; phthalates, mold, microbes, benzene, trihalomethanes, and scary enough, arsenic! Do yourself, your health, environment and wallet a favor and nix the bottled water!
